چکیده

With the continuous increase of world’s population, rapid development industrialization and urbanization, growth economy, fossil fuel consumption is also increasing continuously to meet growing energy demand. The unsustainability fuels issues national security make it very urgent develop appropriate sustainable replacement for fuels. Biodiesel one alternatives diesel engine due its renewable eco-friendly nature. This greener has been used in many countries across continents a blending range up 20% with petrodiesel. However, high biodiesel production cost still major obstacle market acceptance. Non-edible woody oils can be considered as low-cost substitutions traditional edible vegetable production. In order into reality much wider scope, number relevant researches focused on: (1) evaluating properties; (2) optimizing process; (3) assessing environmental impact. article reviews these three aspects reflect research status potential non-edible oil-based biodiesel.

Deacidification of Pistacia chinensis Oil as a Promising Non-Edible Feedstock for Biodiesel Production in China

Pistacia chinensis seed oil is proposed as a promising non-edible feedstock for biodiesel production. Different extraction methods were tested and compared to obtain crude oil from the seed of Pistacia chinensis, along with various deacidification measures of refined oil. The biodiesel was produced through catalysis of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH). The results showed th...

Heterogeneous base catalysts for edible palm and non-edible Jatropha-based biodiesel production

BACKGROUND Transesterification catalyzed by solid base catalyst is a brilliant technology for the noble process featuring the fast reaction under mild reacting condition in biodiesel production. Heterogeneous base catalysts are generally more reactive than solid acid catalysts which require extreme operating condition for high conversion and biodiesel yield. In the present study, synthesis of b...
